Accessibility statement

Vintage 101 Marketplace wants every visitor to be able to use this site and to feel welcome in the shop. This page explains what we have built in, what is still being worked on, and how to tell us if something gets in your way.

Last updated: June 2026

This statement applies to the Vintage 101 Marketplace website at vintage101coosbay.com. We are a small, family run business in Coos Bay, Oregon, and we treat accessibility as part of good service, not an afterthought.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content easier to use for people with a wide range of abilities, including those who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or other assistive technology. We build toward that standard and we keep checking our work against it.

What we have built in

This site already includes a number of accessibility features:

  • Semantic HTML with clear landmarks (header, navigation, main, and footer) and a heading order that follows the structure of each page, so assistive technology can move through the content in a logical way.
  • A skip to content link at the top of every page for people who navigate by keyboard.
  • Full keyboard support for the navigation, the mobile menu drawer, and the photo viewer, including the ability to close the menu and the viewer with the Escape key.
  • Visible focus indicators, so you can always see where you are when you tab through links, buttons, and controls.
  • Descriptive alternative text on the photographs, so screen reader users get a sense of what each booth and display looks like.
  • Color and contrast chosen to stay readable, aiming to meet the AA contrast levels for text.
  • Support for the reduced motion setting. If your device is set to reduce motion, the scrolling highlights banner and the gentle reveal animations stop.
  • A responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets, and desktops, and that supports zooming in without breaking the page.

Known limitations

We want to be honest about where this site falls short today.

  • The map on our Visit page is an embedded Google Maps component. It is provided by a third party and we do not control how it is built, so parts of it may not fully meet the same standard as the rest of the site. If you need directions in another form, call us and we will gladly walk you through how to find us.
  • Some accessibility details can only be confirmed with assistive technology in real use. If you rely on a screen reader, magnifier, or other tool and you hit a snag we have not caught, please let us know.

Accessibility in the shop

Vintage 101 is a physical marketplace as well as a website, and the booths are arranged by more than twenty independent vendors. If you have a question about getting around the shop, or you would like us to set something aside or help you reach a display, please call ahead at (541) 808-0980. We are happy to help during our open hours, daily from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Report a problem

If you run into anything on this site that is hard to read, hard to use, or simply does not work for you, we want to hear about it. Please tell us what page you were on and what happened, and we will do our best to fix it.

We read every message and aim to respond within a few business days. If a fix will take longer, we will tell you that and offer another way to get the information or help you need.

Ongoing work

Testing and improvement here are ongoing. As we update pages and add content, we keep accessibility in mind and we revisit this statement when things change. Thank you for helping us make Vintage 101 better for everyone.
